Michael Gotz

WELCOME!

Michael Gotz has been performing as a Guitarist and Pianist for 35 years. His relationship with music began over 40 years ago as Soprano Soloist with the Sacred Heart Boys Choir.
While essentially a jazz player, Michael has performed in a variety of genres including Reggae, Pop and Country... in venues ranging from the infamous Pioneer Square Tavern to Tulas, Town Hall, the Lido Bar of the Sea Princess and the Paramount Northwest Theater in Portland... and, of course, hundreds of nights playing rock reggae guitar with 'The Groove' at The Bohemian Cafe in Pioneer Square.

Michael's solo guitar performances weave improvisations with favorite songs from a lifetime of loving music. While playing an acoustic, nylon string guitar Michael plays bass lines and percussion on a Roland PK-7 foot operated midi controller.
The tunes range from Charlie Parker's 'Donna Lee' to John Mayer's 'Clarity'...with a lot of Beatles in between.
If there is a grand piano available Michael will play solo piano until you send him home...Jazz, songs, improvisation.
One of Michael's favorite ensemble settings is that of a Jazz Trio featuring
keys, acoustic bass and a limited drumset or hand percussion.

	INSTRUCTION
	Michael Gotz offers Private and Group Instruction from his Studio overlooking beautiful Elger Bay on Camano Island Private Instruction $50 per hour Improvisation, Guitar and Keyboards - all levels Group 'Circle' Workshops $35 per 2 hours Minimum of 3 students, maximum of 5 We'll utilize the 'Circle of Fourths' to practise soloing and discuss Music.

	Whether playing solo guitar, performing with Jazzukha, or playing jazz standards with a piano trio, Michael's primary goal is to bring the music directly from his heart to you.
